IT TECHIE MAN TURNS INTO VILLAN | 6 Athiyayam Tamil Movie News | Cinema Profile
In the recent times, we have been witnessing whole lot of IT professionals embarking on their journey in showbiz. It's not a fashion, but the passion that brings them into the world of cinema and of course, the talented ones have always been bestowed with great reception and appreciations. Munthiri Kaadu in all likelihood has already brought forth heavy downpour of praises upon Somu, who plays a baddie out here in this movie. The first among the early ones to appreciate Somu is director Seeman. The currently released '6 Adhyayam', an anthology of 6 horror stories has been getting the best reports. Somu shot to fame with his performance in the 6th story of this movie titled 'Chitthiram Kolludhadi'.

Hailing from the backdrops of IT industry, Somu sheds the light on his early life and passion for cinema. Moreover, what drove him into the industry? "Having pursued by education in school and college graduation, I joined IT industry as my profession. I have had a great passion for films right from my childhood. It's been a pondering desire indeed feeling at many times whether I would have an opportunity to step into the industry. As soon as I joined my profession as an IT employee, I started focussing on expressing my talents at many cultural events. I have a greater passion for dancing and had been taking part in many dance groups. Aftermath, I got an opportunity to act in a short film screened at Kalaignar TV Naalaya Iyakkunar... It gained me best actor award as well and was really privileged to be honored by none other than the legend filmmaker K Bhagyaraj. After this, I acted in nearly 15-20 films and one among them was Sridhar Venkatesan's Chitthiram Kolludhadi.

This got included in the anthology of 6 Adhyayam and it has been highly appreciated by every film critic and buffs over social media and online portals."

Somu has now completed acting in 'Munthiri Kaadu', which is directed by M. Kalangiam. He has also played an important role in director Vetrimaaran's Vada Chennai. Sharing experience on this, Somu says, "It is M Kalangiam sir who introduced me to the world of cinema. I would say that he is my God Father in cinema. It is worth mentioning that he is acknowledged as the versatile filmmaker for winning 3 State Government awards. When asked me to get prepared for the role, I had to grow a beard for nearly a year and everyone at my IT firm used to look me in a disgusting manner. I had to bear all such things patiently and then went for shooting. I play an important villain in this film and would be appearing throughout the film. The film has been shot for 60 days across the backdrops of Tanjore, Pudhu Kottai, Tirunelveli and the locals around them.

I am so happy that Seeman Anna happened to watch my performance and personally appreciated me for it. It is an unforgettable moment and same happens to be with my experience working with Vetrimaaran in Vada Chennai."

Right now Somu is actively involved in the films and has lined up a couple of movie projects. He assures that stands out as a promising actor in 2018
